Having issues with my casino game controller – anyone else experienced this?

Hello all, I am having problems with my slot machine button module, it seems that the buttons are not functioning properly. Does anyone have any experience with this? It happens sporadically and sometimes just goes away, but other times it remains present. Can anybody help me out or point me in the direction of a wiki?

That sounds like a faulty button module to me - I've dealt with them before. Given the random failure, it’s probably a bad solder joint or worn-out microswitch. Turn off the printer and check the board connections for any looseness. Since you’re experiencing intermittent problems, I’d guess a broken trace somewhere. Try some electronic contact spray on the switches if you can. If not, try swapping out the buttons or the entire module. It could be water damage or overheating has cracked the PCB. Look for other symptoms like error messages or funky operation elsewhere; there may be more going on than just what you see. Make sure your firmware isn’t corrupted; a reinstall or wipe and reload might help. Let me know if this helps at all; we’ll take it from there.

If you encounter intermittent button problems, check to see if your buttons have a steady stream of electricity running through them. Sometimes, loose connectors within the machine need to be tightened; sometimes, just replacing the faulty board with another one can solve the issue. If only some of your buttons stop functioning, you may have a bad solder joint or a dirty contact. Alternatively, you could always search the slot machine manufacturer's website or discussion forum to see if anyone else has encountered (and potentially resolved) the same issue. Good luck!

Randomly malfunctioning slot machine buttons are almost always wiring or alignment issues. Try a soft reset first - turn it off and back on. If the problem continues, check for disconnected or dusty wires between the button module and the motherboard, and also make sure there is no dirt or lint underneath the actual buttons that may block them from making the proper contacts. It could also be a bad module or printed circuit board; I would advise replacing that with a new one. Have engineers from the manufacturer come out and replace it, or at least send out a replacement part. Want me to link you to any brand-specific service technician wikis?

Sounds like a bad contact or defective button board module. I would start by power cycling the machine. That always seems to fix a lot of flaky problems. Check with the manufacturer's website for possible firmware updates to the slot controller. Assuming no improvement, then I would give the manufacturer a call or arrange for service. If you want I can look up the support site and/or manual for you. Best of luck!
