Should I upgrade my monitor to fix screen tearing in casino games?

I I have an old CRT monitor and run a lot of games in windowed mode, which ends up giving me tearing. Do you guys think it's worth investing into a new monitor? Or would there be a better solution? Anyone who's been through this before?

Yes, getting a new monitor will likely solve your problem. CRT monitors are great for many things, but not so much for playing games or running windowed applications. Screen tearing is probably caused by the fact that your old monitor can’t handle the refresh rate of today’s games. The ideal solution would be to get a decent monitor, something with a minimum of 144Hz refresh rate and a decent vsync (TN or IPS panel). And this is even more important if you plan to run your games in windowed mode. You want to give players a good first impression and keep them engaged, rather than make them constantly frustrated by glitches. Players will also find it easier on the eyes over a longer period.

Yes, throw away your CRT monitor, because it doesn’t have anything that can do anything about this tearing. A 75Hz+ IPS or TN panel with G-Sync or FreeSync will eliminate tearing and provide much smoother motion, particularly in visually demanding games like casino games. Besides, windowed mode consumes less power than fullscreen mode, and you can run multiple windows simultaneously; however, keep in mind that you need a good monitor regardless. The upgrade is definitely worth it for both gameplay and vision health. Virtually all gamers confirm this – I promise, you will see the difference.

So if you’re annoyed by tearing in your gambling simulator, invest in a new monitor. Your CRT is absolutely incapable of running modern games (windowed mode), let alone at 144Hz with G-Sync/FreeSync. A new monitor will eliminate tearing and improve overall performance. Absolutely, this is a worthwhile investment for playing games. Just find a monitor model compatible with your preferred PC and within your budget. It’s a no-brainer.
