How do different AMD GPUs compare for running casino game discussion forums and simulators?

I maintain an online resource for a certain gaming activity, including some simulation software. What’s the best cheap (and perhaps used) AMD GPU for hosting such a site?

You run a video-game wiki/online community, and you want a cheap graphics card. Buy a second-hand AMD RX 570 or 580. Those old-school GPUs are quite capable of doing the rudimentary modeling and simulation work required – they have enough VRAM, too, and can be found on the second-hand market in large quantities.

You can also use the RX 580 (8GB model) for virtual events and simulations. It is more future proof than the Nvidia card. You should get a version with good cooling and functional fans, which these cards require, because they can be used in server environments.

First, ensure that the card has drivers and works on your host operating system. "Gaming X" models are fine for non-enthusiasts. Don't buy burned-out miners (indicated by "flickering" LEDs or unusual wear).

A pro-tip: The more VRAM, the better the simulations, so go with 8GB cards. You can get a 580 8GB for under $100-150 used. That will suffice to host simple games and page renderers while staying under budget. Just buy a card, put it in a box, spin up a server, and deliver joy to your patrons again. 🎰

You don’t need high-powered gaming GPUs to host casino game forums and simulators. Any AMD GPU with enough VRAM and respectable power consumption would work, including older generations such as the RX 580 or RX 570. I found several secondhand RX 580s on eBay and the Facebook Marketplace; 8 GB is better than 4 GB. Do not forget to check whether your computer case and power cable have sufficient capacity to support the GPU.

You don’t need a high-end graphics card to run a simulation forum or casino simulator. The mid-range AMD RX 580 or RX 6600 are more than sufficient for this. They’re also very cheap and should be able to handle most types of simulations or online games. On a tight budget? You can get away with an older RX 570 or RX 560X, but it depends on the number of users. Get the best value for money. There are plenty of good second-hand cards on eBay, Craigslist, or at yard sales. Shop around!
