hahaha yea it could be the wiki plugin eating up 100% of the cpu... most plugins (that are not written clean) will blow you away if you have a lot of content to show. In your case it appears to be writing to the db alot... like autosaving or whatever... I saw something similar at a big casino site which had a lot of content plugins.

Here’s a simple test: turn off the wiki plugin for a while and check disk space usage. If it goes back to normal, there’s your answer. At that point, you can either contact the plugin creator to ask if they have a solution or install a more memory-efficient replacement.

Also, check to see what your server logs are telling you as well, that there may be some other process or plugin that is taxing your server.

Yes, some wikis will absolutely consume all your disk I/O. They are constantly writing to disk. If you’re running a casino, forum, or Q& A site, check for any anomalous activity happening in the wiki – perhaps there’s an automatic update process or editing.

Disable the wiki plugin for a while (maintenance mode) and check disk space usage. Is it down? The plugin is probably responsible. Look at the server logs for related process ids or error messages. Watch the game's forum; malicious scripts and bots may have caused the same thing in the past. Be discreet and start digging.

Yes, the wiki plugin may be responsible, particularly if it performs inefficiently. Wikis sometimes perform auto-save operations, or index, or sync their forum data. Look in your web server log files to see whether the wiki plugin’s processes are running when the disk usage is high. Disable the wiki plugin to see if the percentage of disk usage is lower. If it is, you should either upgrade your wiki plugin or find a new one. Also watch your database size – it can grow rapidly due to edits and images. Best of luck!

Yes, indeed, a wiki plugin CAN cause 100% disk usage - especially if it does auto-backups, regular reindexing, and photo manipulation. Use the server task manager/resource monitor to see if the plugin process is spinning. Disable the wiki to see if that resolves the issue. Try replacing it with a more lightweight plugin to test your theory.

Sure, wiki plugin could definitely be a reason. Plugins are the most evil things – if it is badly written or does too much caching/processing, it can kill your disk. Try disabling it with ftp/cpanel and see if disk usage comes down. Check server logs for errors coming from wiki/forum scripts. It may be a memory leak. Delete unoptimized images from wiki. Let me know how it goes.
