Where should I post a cheater report in a game discussion subreddit?
Hi Reddit, I maintain a wiki and forum for a casino-style game. Where would be the best place to post a cheating bug report? General game discussion threads? A specific cheating/bug report forum? And how can we manage reporting of cheats in a way that is fair to both the cheaters and the community?

Cheaters should go to a separate thread, not just general chat. Make a "Bug Reports & Cheating" subforum to avoid clutter. Have a straightforward form where people can submit their report with details such as what cheat they used, in which map and at what time, and ideally a screenshot. This makes it easier to check validity. On Reddit, consider having a pinned link in your r/[game] sidebar to the forum section.
Be honest. Tell players what happens when they report someone, that this matters to you, that they will not be identified. Don’t make a spectacle of yourself. Nobody needs to see unsubstantiated allegations or screenshots. Share your conclusions after you have investigated. Put together a cheat policy and common FAQ for the forum so any questions players have about what is and isn’t allowed are covered and understood. Players are more likely to remain engaged and positive if treated with respect and courtesy. If you do all of this right, your players will be your partners in ensuring that the game remains fair and enjoyable. Be amiable (but not over-familiar). You’ve got this!
If you need to file a cheat report: Post it in a “Bug Reports & Cheating” thread or subforum rather than just any old forum post. This will help simplify things. Use sticky posts where you can, asking for logs or timestamps. This ensures that everyone is honest about it and reduces the number of false reports. Transparency helps build trust. You’ll do fine.
A We do have a separate bug/cheat report thread. We will keep it simple. We may add a sticky post on how to report bugs. Reporters can provide log files, timestamps, etc. if possible. Verify with reporters before doing anything - we don't want players losing faith. Open discussion can happen in a thread after verification. We are good to go.
