Why does my friend match faster than me?

Hello everyone! Can someone please explain why my friend always gets dealt before me? We are playing the exact same game and at exactly the same time. My internet connection is as fast as hers; is somehow a casino giving her priority? Does anyone else have this experience? What’s happening?

And no, this is not some kind of plot against you. A lot of variables could be influencing your friend’s speed in the games, such as her proximity to the server (yes, even if you’re playing on the same table), her internet connection (whether she’s using Wi-Fi or an ethernet cable, for example), and her device (newer computers and phones can respond much faster). In addition, many games use a system of randomization when it comes to dealing cards and queuing matches. Your friend is not being given any special treatment by the casino. And if all else fails, try playing during the slowest hours, or hooking up your computer directly to the router.

Not only you, but also the game’s algorithms determine who you end up playing against. They could be looking at how active you are, what kind of an account you have, how long you’ve been queueing, etc. Maybe if your friend spends more time in the game they can get a tiny boost. Don’t feel bad; this isn’t necessarily cheating, and it could simply happen randomly. Just keep playing and one day – hopefully soon! –it will be your turn. Have fun!

Latency in a gambling venue is random. It never gives a preference to the player who has better internet connection. It is simply a matter of luck like coin toss when somebody wins every turn against you. Play different games or see if there is an option menu in order to change settings. The casino is impartial and not biased. Do not let this small issue ruin your advantage!

But you are not playing a different version of the game – you are playing together in the same arena. This means that it is not internet-speed that determines who wins and who loses: it is whether the game-engine queues you up before your friend (like two cars at a traffic light). Your friend is not being favored by any employees of the casino. Everyone has to wait in line. They just have to do it in a different order.

This has nothing to do with Internet access. We use a random algorithm to shuffle the tables. Your buddy is probably just having better luck than you. You’ve got the same chance as him, so try not to take it personally. If you think that something is wrong, then send us an email. In any case, we definitely are not handing out special advantages.
