Do all casino games have the same level of input lag?

Do you ever feel a greater delay when playing different types of casino games such as slot machines, blackjack, or roulette?

I agree that some online casino games have less lag than others. For example, a slot machine is pretty simple (push the spin button). With blackjack or poker, you may be clicking additional buttons to hit, fold, or stand. And some roulette games will have a small amount of lag when using video stream technology. In general, though, you’ll find that some casino sites have better latency than others. I still prefer to play on the platforms with lower lag if I’m betting real money.

The amount of lag depends on the game and the device you use to play. Simpler games such as slots are likely to have less of a delay, whereas slightly more intricate ones like blackjack or roulette may occasionally have small amounts of lag. This is especially true if there’s a live dealer involved or if they use more animations. Mobile or low-quality browser versions of casinos will often experience more lag. However, modern casino software is designed to keep this at a negligible level. Only you can feel it!

There may be differences in how long it takes for your screen to react with different casino games. Slots will experience almost no latency because they do not have a real-time element. Blackjack and roulette, particularly live dealer variants, will lag behind a little as there is more going on in each game. There will likely always be a bit of a delay between your actions and then seeing them played out in front of you when playing live dealer versions. Latency may also depend on the hardware and software on which you are playing - if you are playing on a tablet, for example, you could notice slightly longer delays compared to playing on your desktop. Your own internet connection and computer will play a part in this, too. So if it's speed you want above all else, stick to slots.

Input latency does vary between different casino games. It’s faster for slots than other types of games, but slower for blackjack or roulette. With online gaming, your internet connection will also affect input latencies – a fast connection will reduce it.

That’s a big nope. On games where it’s just you pressing a button (slots), latency is often pretty low, whereas on live dealer table games, there may be some delay, especially when trying to place a bet really fast or if the table is busy. The online version of live dealer table games has lower latency than the app, though it still won’t match what you get with slots, but that would also depend on your device and internet connection.
