How do I know if lag is my problem or the site's issue?

Hello every one. I would like to know if lag occurs on the site then whether this is due to the connection I use or if it is due to a problem on the server. Is there any clear sign that distinguishes these two types of problems? Thank you in advance.

First, make sure your connection is not a problem. Try visiting a few other sites and playing a couple of online games. If everything works fine except for the casino, then most likely the website is experiencing some kind of technical issue due to its many active users. It’s also worth doing a quick Internet speed test, in case your connection isn’t as fast as your ISP claims. And try restarting your router or modem if it has been on continuously for a long time. If, after confirming that your Internet connection is fine, you’re still experiencing problems, then this could be an issue with the website. Most websites will have forums or some support channel where visitors can report their issues. Look there to see whether others are having the same problem; if so, the problem is on their end. If they don’t appear to be having any issues, then it might be something with your computer or Internet connection. In that case, take detailed notes and contact the casino’s customer service. Don’t jump to conclusions.

To diagnose lag, there are two strategies: One, run a speed test at a site such as Speedtest.net – high ping rates or slow upload and download times point to an internet connection problem. Two, see whether the lag continues when you use a different network, for example, a mobile hotspot. If the lag does go away, it’s your connection; if not, you’ll have to assume it’s the fault of the game server. Websites such as DownDetector provide information about service disruption that others have experienced. Easy, painless, and lets you know who to blame. Good hunting, gamer.

To figure out whether slow performance is your problem or the website’s, open a speed test page in a new browser tab while you’re playing. If your speeds don’t change and the game remains slow, you’ve found the culprit. If they tank, or your ping is high, try switching routers or connecting your device directly. Or play that game again, this time on a different network (say, your phone’s hotspot). If you experience lag, your network is problematic; if not? The site has a flaw.

Why is this happening? Is this server experiencing a slowdown? If so, check other servers and get in touch with your friends to see if they have the same problem. If your connection shows high latency, it’s most probably an issue with your provider. If not, there’s something wrong with the server. A quick way to check is to go to pingtest.net, as well as trying to connect from a different computer or network. Got it already? Good!

First, test your Internet connection. Use a service like Speedtest.net to see if your ping time and upload/download speeds are good. If not, that’s your problem. If the result is good, visit some other Web sites - do they take a while to load as well? If not, the casino Web server is having issues. And Google around for any mention of the same problem in forums or on Facebook. That will confirm if it’s a server issue or yours. Good luck!
