Is screen tearing a common issue in online slot games?

Hi guys, have you ever seen screen tearing in web-based online slots? I’ve noticed that sometimes with the animations, particularly if your device specs aren’t great… Is this an issue for other people? Does anyone have tips on how to avoid it or how to configure your PC/browser better? Anyone with dev experience here? Thanks!

Oh yeah, there is screen tearing. I’ve played online slots with a low-end phone before, and screen tearing sometimes happens. It doesn’t ruin the game, but it can be distracting when you have lots of animations or something like a big jackpot. My experience says that most current browsers manage this fine.

When you notice tearing, do this: (1) Make sure that your graphics card’s drivers are up-to-date; (2) Try using another browser, maybe Chrome or Firefox; and (3) Turn on the browser-specific “hardware acceleration” setting, which can be found somewhere under settings.

But as a games designer, my experience is that such problems are caused by issues with the browser/renderer - so make sure you adjust your settings accordingly! Good luck!

Slot screen-tearing is uncommon, and only affects more animated games on older hardware. Browsers or GPUs are primarily to blame. Reduce your browser render settings, upgrade your graphics drivers, or try Chrome/Firefox instead. For mobile players, shut down background applications. Game developers should strive to avoid it. If you see it frequently, report it to the website’s support team - they may be unaware. Play-for-cash? I’m not seeing any tears.

Tear is not so prevalent in online slot games, but you may experience it on old hardware or if there are highly sophisticated animations in play. It’s generally caused by the browser and GPU not working in tandem. Here are some ways to combat it: full screen the active browser tab, update your GPUs software, turn off browser add-ons, or use an alternative browser (Chrome tends to work well). Slots that have a lot of moving features may challenge low-spec machines. More ideas? I have tinkered with game optimization, so I can probably give you some more insight.
