Is there a way to get notified before a game goes into maintenance?

Hello! I manage a wiki and forum community surrounding casino games. Do you know if we can receive an email alert when a game is about to go down for maintenance? We always need to update our guides and forum threads. What kind of software do you use for monitoring maintenance windows?

Yes, we get advanced notice of when games are going down. As far as I know, all the casinos track their sites with tools such as Pingdom or UptimeRobot and I can be alerted via email and/or Slack when an outage is imminent.

I understand as an old casino guy what you mean. Maintaining a living wiki or forum is important when the games are going down for maintenance. And don't forget the direct marketing channels with the game manufacturers and casinos - sometimes they will announce maintenance early to a trusted partner.

Or you could Google Alert “Gta Online down” or something like that? It’s not very exact, but it might work. Just remember to update both your monitoring services and your vendors – that should do it.

Yeah, the game developers usually email you if you are in their dev or support mailing lists. You can also do email search and uptime bots, or even set up a Google Alert for “Game X maintenance” and see if they announce anything. Also, some casinos have an open API you could use to check with a custom script. Tell me which games, and I’ll help you find the correct source.

There is no public maintenance notification system for most casinos; monitor their website or social media. In your wiki/forums, use Google Alerts to email you any time someone posts “[Game Name] Maintenance, ” or use IFTTT (If This Then That) to forward such posts to your email inbox. You might also ask the casino’s customer service if they have developer blogs (many of them do) or an RSS feed.

Yes, some sites do send emails when they are scheduled for maintenance, but again, it depends on the supplier. Maybe you should contact their customer service and ask if they can provide something like that. Most suppliers do have in-house tools for scheduling maintenance, and they could configure an email or API notification. Or maybe they have a developer portal with APIs that you could integrate with to get updates about their maintenance schedule. Also, check out their social media posts and forums; they sometimes post announcements on when they will be doing maintenance. I can give you a list of casino suppliers and how to contact them. Cheers!
