Is voice chat available on mobile for casino games?
Hello, has anyone had luck finding mobile-friendly versions of voice chat for online casinos? Many of the casino applications that I've explored include only text-based chat. Anyone know of a online casino that offers voice chat to dealers (and other players) when using mobile devices?

Mobile voice chat at online casinos is very rare. Mobile applications mostly use text chat due to problems with audio quality (microphones are often not good), background noises can be too loud sometimes, and because using a mic while gaming can be a privacy issue for many people. Also, poor quality of mobile Internet connections can cause some issues. I know that some live dealer casinos, such as Evolution Gaming or Ezugi, offer some form of mobile voice chat in their live dealer games. However, from what I know, it’s something similar to push-to-talk technology, embedded into an app. If you want to talk and hear your fellow gamers and live croupiers – you need to use Discord or some other third-party app. At least on the mobile device. Text chat is the most reliable method of communication in live dealer games so far. Try a few popular live casino apps and check out how the chatting works. Results may vary, depending on your device, connection, and app.
The vast majority of mobile casinos are text-only, with almost none offering voice chat (except in live dealer games, which may be available on desktop). Why? Because most online casinos are not optimized for the extra bandwidth and CPU requirements that voice chat demands. Mobile, even more so, because mobile devices are still relatively weak. However, there are exceptions: I’ve seen some voice chat in mobile web versions of 888poker and Bet365, but it’s hit or miss; check the site for updates, or reach out to support. At this point, voice chat remains a fringe feature.
For now, most casinos will opt for text chat on your phone because it’s easier, faster, and more reliable when you’re in a poor signal zone. Voice needs more bandwidth and introduces extra network latency that can ruin your game. Some do have voice chat in their PC or Mac app (Evolution Gaming certainly does), but not in the smartphone app. Try looking around the “Live Casino” category; sometimes they have voice. Good luck!
