Should I set a lower FPS cap to save GPU resources while playing casino games?

Is there a performance benefit to capping the FPS when playing casino games? Or is this a matter of personal preference and the avoidance of instability?

Setting an FPS cap in casino games is mostly optional. These types of games generally don’t benefit from high frame rates. Lowering the cap isn’t going to make too much difference in terms of GPU usage. If you’re not experiencing any tearing or other artifacts, capping FPS is unnecessary. You might want to consider it if you’re experiencing GPU throttling or fan noise during gameplay, though. Additionally, some players prefer the feel of capped FPS. When you have input lag or dropped frames, the best thing you can do is optimize the rest of your rig or the game. In summary: unless you have a good reason, keep it as you see fit.

FPS capping is not required for casino games (unless you just don’t like variable FPS or are having issues with screen tearing). It will not help that much with GPU load because the frames per second value in casinos is already low, and it will affect negatively on performance. Capping may be needed to increase stability or reduce input delay, or perhaps for streaming/recordings if constant FPS is required.

Limiting a casino game’s frame rate will not save any GPU power (casino games do not require much graphics processing). Limiting a frame rate could be helpful if you are seeing screen tearing or if you need to limit the frame rate to your monitor’s refresh rate. Capping is otherwise cosmetic. If your machine is running well, don’t bother capping. If the game is stuttering, update your drivers or close other applications. Enjoy!

You probably don’t need to limit FPS in gambling games. They tend not to tax the GPU too much. Reducing FPS cap may yield only minor benefits. FPS fluctuations for these titles are uncommon. The decision to set an FPS cap is purely a matter of taste; some folks just like higher FPS. Only if you have a hot GPU do you need to consider a frame rate limit; otherwise, flip a coin. Do what makes you happy.
