Which casino game platforms allow users to adjust their FPS cap?

Hey all, I was wondering - is it possible to change your fps cap on any of the casino game platforms? Some of the games are smoother if you change the settings and lower your fps cap, so I was wondering if you can do that if you play at an online casino.

FPS throttling can be found in most casino software, but few operators will allow you to change this (casinos using HTML5 or Flash-based games will likely have fixed FPS – a setting determined by the game developer). However, there are always exceptions. Desktop users may experience different results if they go old-school (wired internet, closing unnecessary programs, even switching between Chrome, Firefox, and Edge). Players who use a software platform that allows you to install an app (common in Android casinos) may have more options to get better performance. And if FPS is affecting your gaming experience too much, reach out to casino support. They may know some tips and tricks to improve it.

You cannot adjust the FPS cap when playing at most online casinos since their games are browser-based (or app-based) and you can't change the settings. If you need help with this, let me know and I'll walk you through it.

Fortunately, most online casino sites do not have easy access to FPS caps – they are designed to run plug-and-play without giving players access to engine settings. However, if you’re playing through a third-party desktop client like an emulator (which is common in older slot games), you may be able to adjust FPS within the client’s settings. If the games work on your browser, you can also look into adjusting your browser’s GPU settings or using FPS limiters in your operating system. It’s a bit of a fudge, but it can help.

Unfortunately, many online casinos run on web browsers or proprietary software, so FPS caps aren’t usually something you can set directly. Check your browser settings for flags or GPU configuration options, if you’re playing in a browser. In desktop apps, look for FPS caps in advanced settings or options menus. Failing that, you may be able to reduce the FPS by lowering quality settings for the game itself. Of course, it varies by platform. Do you have a specific casino in mind?

But most online casinos (Playtech, Microgaming) play on web browsers or their own dedicated apps – which usually won’t give you any options to change FPS caps. Browsers are usually optimized for fast gameplay over fancy visuals. You can try to check the settings in some live casino platforms, if they have a launcher or a standalone Windows client – I’ve heard of some older ones offering some adjustments, but it’s pretty rare. There’s not much point trying to open a browser’s developer console, to be honest. Most of these games are already running at 60+ FPS, so even if the option is there to change the setting, it’s not like it’ll have a huge impact. Reach out if you do find one that works!
