The best game is blackjack; if you play perfectly, you’ll get back 99.5% of what you wager. So the casino keeps only 50 cents out of every $100 it takes from you. (Video poker, particularly the 10/7 Double Bonus version, is almost as good, but you have to memorize the pay table.) The Banker bet in baccarat has a low 1.06% house advantage, but that goes up to 1.24% on the Punter bet. The “house edge” is the amount of money the casino expects to keep long term; the smaller the number, the better the bet is for you.
My advice? Memorize the basic strategy cards for Blackjack, steer clear of all side bets, and seek out casinos that have favorable rules such as late surrender and double after split. I’ve witnessed players ruin their budgets in pursuit of bonuses and more complex side bets. Playing simply will get you on the path to winning something. Just be mindful: It is still a game of chance. Don’t bet more than you can afford.
Online casinos offer some really good choices with odds; Blackjack, Video Poker, and Baccarat are all pretty good bets. The best choice is always Blackjack, played with Basic Strategy and under the most favorable rules, that give you a House Edge around 0.5%. Baccarat is another excellent choice, particularly the Player bet, at roughly 1.06% House Edge. Video Poker is fun, and under the most favorable conditions and rules, it can still be slightly in your favor. But remember, you have to know the game and play under favorable conditions. I’ve seen too many players throw their money away because they didn’t know the rules. Take care, don’t gamble blind.
If you absolutely must play online, blackjack is probably your best option. Clever players have a 99% chance of winning. House advantage? About 0.5%. Baccarat is good as well (house edge of 1.06% on banker bets), though less strategic than blackjack. Video poker is another excellent choice, assuming favorable payouts. How to play? Memorize basic strategy for blackjack, bet on the banker in baccarat, and read the pay table for video poker. Done right, it’s possible to make a lot of money this way; just remember to keep your gaming sessions brief.
