The main difference between American and European Roulette is their layout: 37 numbered pockets on European wheels (numbers 1-36 and a single green 0), 38 on American wheels with the addition of a second green zero (00). The extra 1/37th chance for the house may not sound like much, but it increases the house advantage significantly, from around 2.7% to 5.26%. In other words, American Roulette isn’t as friendly to gamblers.

The other variation concerns the order in which the numbers are arranged. On European wheels, they are distributed in such a way that the highs and lows, the odds and evens are less easily predictable. American wheels have a somewhat more random, less balanced order.

For higher chances of winning, try European Roulette instead. The game is more challenging, more balanced, and more sophisticated than its American cousin – but, either way, they’re both a barrel of laughs.

The European Roulette wheel features 37 numbered slots (1 through 36 and a single zero), while its American counterpart squeezes in an additional double-zero slot. This little green pocket takes more money from players’ accounts, so it is easier to win on the European wheel. While both wheels have a similar design, the European version also uses red and black pockets in alternation, which somehow seems fairer. If you aim to increase your chances of winning, go for European Roulette.

The European Roulette wheel has one zero (37 pockets) and the American two zeros (38 pockets). The second zero in America gives the house a higher advantage. Both wheels are arranged differently - the European one in a more orderly fashion, the American one in a somewhat chaotic pattern. The payouts also vary: in European Roulette, you get a higher chance of winning, which is why most professional players choose this version. The discrepancy may appear minor, but it makes all the difference.
