Why is my mic not working when I play casino games online?

Does anyone know why my mic stopped working on my computer while chatting with friends who are playing online gambling? Is it a browser issue or a setting in the casino? Help!

I can’t hear my microphone when I’m at a casino! Make sure your browser is enabled for microphone usage on your OS, because it may have gotten turned off. Then, in the website settings for the gambling site, allow microphone access. Alternatively, some sites use an external chat system and mic access needs to be controlled separately. You could also try updating your browser or using a different one, such as Chrome or Firefox. If you are using a headset, check that the input device is set appropriately in your OS and browser. If none of that works, ask the casino’s help desk – they probably already know about this. It’s usually something outside of the game. Hope you solve it!

First, make sure that the mic is working in other applications. Then, mute and unmute the mic in your browser settings and close and reopen the browser tab or game. The online casino may also use a Flash plugin, which may not be supported by your browser. Try using a different browser. Perhaps your online friends are at another casino. If none of these steps work, try running the Mic Troubleshooter through your operating system.

I’m sorry you’re having Microphone errors! They are usually caused by Browser permissions or in-game settings. First, make sure your browser is giving the green light for microphone access (a tiny green mic icon should appear). Refreshing the page can also help. If it is alright, look inside the casino’s chat settings - the mic might have been accidentally switched off. Some casinos have “push-to-talk” mode on by default, which might be confusing. Lastly, switch to another browser and see if that helps. Please let us know what you discover.

Microphone problems are a nuisance. Start by checking your browser’s permissions (many online casinos only require HTML5, and your browser may need to approve your microphone usage, so open the microphone permissions tab-by-tab). If that doesn’t work, try testing your microphone on another website or application; if it’s working, you’ll know the casino’s audio controls are probably to blame. To fix this, try clearing your browser cache, using a different browser, or contacting casino support. Some online casinos have their own audio settings that may conflict with your microphone.
