Hi! A gaming PC expert here. To find out if your computer runs Vulkan, start with GPU model - Vulkan is supported on almost all AMD GPUs since 2013 and Nvidia GPUs since 2014, as well as Intel HD Graphics 520+. Next, ensure you have updated GPU drivers from their official site. Then, grab Vulkaninfo from LunarG online and see if it shows info about your system. Vulkan should be enabled automatically in most games, though you may need to manually enable it in game settings (if available) to see benefits. Also, try Vulkan-heavy games such as Dota 2 or Apex Legends to really notice its impact. And yes, Vulkan can improve streaming latency by making rendering more efficient during gameplay. Finally, make sure you are running Windows 7 SP1 or later. Other PC questions? Feel free to ask! 😎
To see if you have Vulkan on your PC, first find out what kind of video card you have: most current AMD/Nvidia GPUs that are five or six years old should work fine. Then open your video card’s control panel (such as the NVIDIA Control Panel) and look at the 3D settings tab and see whether Vulkan is listed. Or, download VulkanInfo from the LunarG SDK and run it. Also update your video card’s drivers – they will help increase the frames per second in supported games.
Try this: First, ensure that your GPU supports Vulkan: most modern NVIDIA (GTX 900 series and up) and AMD (RX 550 series and up) GPUs do. You might need to run GPU-Z or consult the manufacturer’s website to be sure. Second, confirm that you’re on a 64-bit operating system (Windows 7 Service Pack 1 or later). Run the Vulkan Info tool from LunarG to see whether Vulkan is enabled. If so, enable it in your game’s settings to start seeing an increase in frame rate.
First, Vulkan is about your graphics card and its drivers, not necessarily about your PC. To see if your graphics card supports Vulkan, you can install GPU Caps Viewer or Vulkan Info (both are free). After installing either program, it will list whether Vulkan is supported on your graphics card. Note that just because your graphics card supports Vulkan does not mean that every game on your system runs it. Check if your favorite games support Vulkan in their menus and turn it on if so for improved FPS!
