Hi all, working on a casino game wiki and forum, can anyone suggest an encyclopedia that offers best coverage of casino games' rules, odds, and strategy?

For more detailed analyses of specific games, Casino Mecca and Wizard of Odds are reliable resources. Mecca provides nice graphics illustrating paytables and variance, whereas the Wizard’s analysis – which is heavy on numbers – is unrivaled when it comes to probabilities and house advantage. I have relied on both sites, using Mecca in preparation for this article and the Wizard on other occasions.

For strategy information, check out Blackjack Apprenticeship. Their strategy tables and card counting resources are real. For strategies on rarer games, visit Big Fish Games Wiki; they have some pretty good write-ups, for example here for Let It Ride and for Three Card Poker.

I would recommend that you double-check this against some other sources as you build your wiki. The important thing is to regularly update it with the latest games and payouts. Casino gaming changes so fast that something that was popular two years ago may no longer be a hit. Do the basics well, then add some strategy guides and player tips to help people return.

For hard-core players and/or gamblers, check out WizardOfOdds.com - it’s the Bible of casino games. Everything from slot machines to poker to craps and more is explained in detail. There’s also a great forum with some very knowledgeable players. I’ve also seen useful stuff on GamblingInfo.net. Like WizardOfOdds, both sites provide an abundance of mathematical analysis (I love math!).

If you want to understand the intricacies of casino gaming, visit WizardOfOdds.com. This site provides a wealth of information on every aspect of table and slot machines gaming – blackjack, craps, roulette, slots, video poker, keno, sports betting, you name it. The language is technical (lots of math) but reasonably readable, plus they’re written by an actual casino analyst. They also have comprehensive strategy guides, house edge analyses, and game variations. Pretty informal style, though, to keep you from falling asleep. This, I believe, should be your primary source of knowledge – the foundation upon which you can start to build the wiki.

And if you’re creating a casino game forum/wiki, I’d recommend looking at Wizard of Odds; they do good analyses of payoffs, rules, and tactics for almost every game played in casinos. They are considered the top dog in this field. And you might want to include info from Gambling Info Net, which has some good stuff about casino games too. Add a bit of research on rule variations from various casinos’ websites, and you’d be off to an excellent start. Of course, the main thing would be to keep things fresh and to have original strategy articles by members.
