Has anyone else had issues downloading the recent patch for [Game Name]?

Anyone else having problems downloading the latest patch for [Game Name]? Trying to update for my arcade at the casino. The patch won't download. What fixed it? Anyone find the solution in the wiki?

I've seen some techs at my arcade run into this with a recent [Game Name] patch. First course of action? Clear the game's download cache - often located in downloads settings. If that doesn't work, restart the console that hosts the game. That'll usually release the patch lock.

Also verify that your connection is set properly for the MAME cabinet. It might be blocking background patch downloading. Maybe the DNS was wrong – try setting it to a public one like Google or Cloudflare. As a last resort, download the patch manually from the games official pages. They generally have direct download links in case the automatic downloader doesn't work. And of course look at the wiki. There were a couple cases where a region specific solution had made it there.

Yep. Had that one. Server problems or localized internet issues may prevent the patch from downloading. Try the direct link you’ll find on the developer’s website instead of the game client. Flush your DNS and open up your firewall if necessary (security software may be blocking the update). You could use a VPN to switch to a different IP address or try connecting directly to your router with a cable. Also, some Reddit users reported recent problems with the game servers; check out the game’s subreddit or forums. And some players said they solved similar issues by deleting the cache in the data folder. Could be worth a shot.

ah yeah i know people have trouble getting game updates sometimes too. Try checking your internet connection for starters. Clear the game launcher cache too, because that can fix update problems. Check the [Game Name] support website or wiki if its still hanging for a downtime message or bug report. You can also just download the patch directly from the support page. Did any of those work?

Yeah, yeah, patches sometimes break stuff. Server issues maybe? Or something weird with the installer. Try installing during non-peak times, or change your DNS settings to use Google’s (8.8.8.8). If you still have problems, try verifying the integrity of the game data in the launcher or download using the alternative download on their webpage. The game subreddit or wiki may also have a fix from modding communities. Hope this helps! I’ll see you at the arcade!
